Clinton Ray Horne

Mr. Clinton “Clint” Ray Horne, age 55 of the Billyville Road community in Woodbine, Ga. passed away into the arms of Jesus at his residence, in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 6, 2015 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Horne was born in Folkston, Ga. on October 3, 1959. He is the son of Helen Patricia McKenney Tanner and the late Glynn Horne.

His family said of him, “Clint earned a living as a drywall professional for years before becoming a cook at Waffle House. He was a hard worker who was well loved by his coworkers. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his Chihuahuas. He was a man without pretense and of a generous heart. He lived life and loved others without reserve. He was a dependable and trustworthy friend. As a brother and son, he was greatly admired, loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.”

Mr. Horne is survived by his beloved mother, Helen P. Tanner of Woodbine, Ga., his sister and her spouse, Carol T. & Vearl Bailey of Woodbine, Ga., his brothers and their spouses, Norman & Kathy Tanner of Clinton, Tn., David & Pamela Tanner of Hortense, Ga., Brian & Kelly Tanner of Brunswick, Ga. and Shannon Tanner of Woodbine, Ga.

Mr. Horne was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Mildred McKenney, “Nanny.”

Graveside services for Mr. Horne will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine, Ga. with Pastor Chris Ogden presiding. Pall bearers will be Norman Tanner, David Tanner, Vearl Bailey, Kenneth Finney, Herbert ‘Buddy’ McKenney and Garrett Tanner. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Waffle House of Kingsland.

Janice Ann Anderson

Janice A. AndersonMrs. Janice A. Anderson, age 65 of Sweet Gum St. in Kingsland, Ga. passed away on Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fl.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Brunswick, Ga. on November 21, 1949. She is the daughter of the late Horace Charles & Edith Welch Davis She will be remembered by all that she knew and loved for her kind heart, warm smile, caring soul and undying faith.  Knowing her meant knowing that she truly loved her children and grandchildren dearly – those she had by birth and the extended number of nieces, nephews and friends that she called and treated as her own.

For the past 20 or more years, she spent her days driving children to and from school for the Camden County Board of Education. In addition, she worked as a Para-Professional at Coastal Academy, where she enjoyed helping children. She filled the rest of her time on this earth loving life, quilting and crafting. She especially had a love of decorating & cooking for the holidays.   Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face then sharing all of these things with those she loved. She was truly a blessing to all that she loved and knew.  She will be greatly missed but leaves a legacy of kindness & love that will forever be remembered by all.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children and their spouses; Ginny & Tracy Thomas of Kingsland, Ga., James Barron of Folkston, Ga. and Billy & Amanda Anderson of Hoboken, Ga.; her sister, Susan Rabon of St. Marys, Ga.; her brothers, Wayne & Mary Ann Davis of Woodbine, Ga. and Larry & Love Davis of Waycross, Ga.; her grandchildren, Carey Barron, James Barron, Austin Thomas, Tyler Barron, Abbey Anderson, Aubrey Barron, Beau Barron, Davis Anderson, Kayla Lowder, Stephanie Thomas & Tracie Thomas; and her great grandchildren, Payton, Matthew, Maddison & Mason Lowder and Jackson Miller.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Anderson joins her husband, James Alvin Anderson in Heaven.

Calling hours for the family will be from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, August, 18th, 2015 at the Harbor Worship Center on Hwy 40 West in Kingsland. Funeral services will be there at 11 am on Wednesday, August, 2015 with Pastor Mike Sanes presiding. Pallbearers are Dorsey Popham,William Cribbs, TJ Cheek, Terry Pierce, Todd Carter and Shawn Clark. Honorary pallbears are her grandsons, Carey Barron, James Dalton Barron, Tyler Barron, Aubrey Barron, Beau Barron, Davis Anderson, Matthew Lowder, Mason Lowder, Austin Thomas and Jackson Miller. Interment and committal prayers will be held after the service in Lawnwood, Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga.

Harvey J. Dixon, Jr.

Harvey J. Dixon, Jr.Mr. Harvey Jerden Dixon, Jr., age 87, passed away on August 7, 2015 at his home in Kingsland, GA.

Mr. Dixon was born September 4, 1927 in Johnson County, GA. to the late Harvey and Alice Dixon. He retired from Gilman Paper Company Kraft Bag after thirty years. He was an active member and deacon while also being employed at First Baptist Church in Kingsland where everyone lovingly referred to him as “Mr. Harvey”. He was a member of the Camden Masonic Lodge #476. Harvey loved all westerns, and gospel music, but most of all he loved his family and was always ready to listen and care for everyone that crossed his path.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty J. Dixon of Kingsland, GA; his sons, Johnny Dixon of Kingsland, GA, Richard Dixon (Ann) of Kingsland GA, Barry Dixon of Kingsland, GA; his sister, Lucille Bryan of Hardeeville, SC; his grandchildren, Christy Dixon, David Dixon, Alexander Dixon, and preceded in death Ashley Dixon all of Kingsland, GA and four great-grandchildren.

Calling hours for Mr. Dixon will be from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, GA.  Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Kingsland, GA  Monday, August 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Vernon  Dillingham presiding. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, GA. Pall bearers will be Martin Turner, Bill Turner, WC Turner, Larry Standard, Ron Lance and Dale Peeples.

Master Sidney Blake Richardson

Master Sidney Blake RichardsonMaster Sidney Blake Richardson, infant, was received into the arms of Jesus, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Memorial Health in Savannah, Ga. after a courageous battle for his life.

Master Richardson was born on August 5, 2015 in Chatham County, Georgia to Jack and Amanda Richardson.

His family surrounded him with love during his battle for life and afterwards when God called him home.

Master Richardson is survived by his parents; his brothers, Jack Richardson, III and Tyler Richardson, both of Kingsland, Ga.; and his grandmother, Debbie Shedd and Great-Grandmother Jean Clark of St. Marys, Ga.

Master Richardson joins his grandfather, Carl Shedd, Grandmother Janice Richardson and Great-Grandfather Sid Clark in Heaven.

A private service will be held for family and friends at the parents request with Pastor Scott Clevenger presiding. Also, the Pastors of Christ Church Camden Pastor Juan Fraustro, Pastor Matthew Karst & Pastor Allison Murray will be officiating Master Sidney Blake’s home going.

Charles McKinley Teston, Jr.

Charles McKinley Teston, Jr.Mr. Charles “Chuck” McKinley Teston, Jr., age 45, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2015 at his home in St. Marys, GA.

Mr. Teston was born March 29, 1970 in St. Marys, GA. to the late Charles and Evanglynn Teston. He was an avid outdoors man who loved animals. One of his favorite sayings was, “I’ll eat anything that doesn’t eat me first.”  He loved to make people laugh. His friend Wilber Rogers said of him, “Chuck was one of the best friends I’ve ever had. We spent countless days and nights on the river together terrorizing fish, shrimp, oysters and sandbars. Road trips to get truckloads of peanuts or Vidalia onions, hunting trips, offshore fishing, helping each other with whatever we couldn’t handle alone, everything.”  He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Mr. Teston is survived his son, James Teston of St. Marys, GA; his sisters, Tonya Trawick and her husband Rodney of Bonifay, FL and Donna Kirkland of Brunswick, GA.

A memorial drop by for Mr. Teston will be held at 5 PM Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the waterfront park in St. Marys, Ga.

Charles Larry Marr

Charles Larry MarrMr. Charles Larry Marr, age 65 of Wilbur’s Court in Kingsland, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 24, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Marr was born on July 9, 1950 in Hazlehurst, Ga. He is the son of the late Charles Arnold Marr and Sara Helen Barlow Marr. Due to a childhood ailment Mr. Marr was disabled for the majority of his life, but that did not stop him from bicycling all over Camden County. He lived with his parents helping them until their passing. Mr. Marr always spent special time with his nieces and nephews riding 4wheelers, fishing, and buying drinks and candy for them. He was always ready to make a friend, lend a helping hand when he could or find someone that could help. He had a servant’s heart, but was a strong willed man, who stood by what he believed. He will be greatly missed by both his family and friends.

Mr. Marr is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Davie and Pamela Marr Hall of Spartanburg, SC, Michael W. Marr Sr. and Lorna Marr of Folkston, Ga., and Richard Gary Marr Sr. and Sandra Gould Marr of Kingsland, Ga. plus 11 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews, and 4 great great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Mr. Marr will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the Marr Family Cemetery off Hwy 40 West in Kingsland, Ga. with Pastor Seymour Groover presiding.

Jerry Wayne Baker

Jerry Wayne BakerMr. Jerry Wayne Baker, I age 48 of Kingsland’s Browntown Community passed away on Tuesday, July 21 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Jerry Wayne Baker was born in Frankfurt, Germany on September 26, 1966. He is the son of Billy Joe and RoseMarie Weber Baker.

His family said of him, “Jerry Wayne “Sarge” was a hardworking, unselfish human being who placed family before himself each and every time. He was the best husband, father and grandfather who loved his grandchildren passionately.

His brother Billy Ray said that he knew one thing about his little brother that no one else knew or could understand, and that was Jerry Wayne Baker had the heart of a lion. His devotion to his wife, kids, grandkids and friends will be something we will all miss in the upcoming days, months and years to follow.”

Besides his parents, Jerry Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Leedy- Baker; his daughters, Katherine Beard of Kingsland, GA, Kristina Baker of Dalton, GA, Taylor Tuten, of St. Marys, GA, and Elizabeth Anderson of Jacksonville, FL; his sons, Brandon Baker, of Phenix City, AL and James Tuten of Brunswick, GA; his sisters, Carolyn Grosscoff of Phenix City, AL and Linda Lyberg of Columbus, GA; his brothers, Charles Baker of Phenix City, AL, Billy Baker of Palm Bay, FL, and James Baker of Phenix City, AL; and his grandchildren, Kaylee Fox, Dylan Fox, Jaylynn Beard, Kenley Childs, Mason Young, Krysta Skye, Alan Baker.

Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Billy J. Quinn

Billy J. QuinnMr. Billy J. Quinn, age 76 of Palmetto Street in St. Marys, Ga., passed away at his residence on the afternoon of Friday, July 17th, 2015 surrounded by his beloved family.
Mr. Quinn was born on November 30, 1938 in Humboldt, Tn. He is the son of the late Gertie Rummge & James Leonard Quinn.

Mr. Quinn served as a Captain in the United States Army, doing two tours during the Vietnam War. He was a proud Vietnam Vet. Upon moving to Camden County, he worked for Camden Telephone Company and TDS Telecom for 25 years. He then went to work for Darien Telephone Company for 5 years. He was a proud Rotarian and was the President of the Rotary Club of Kings Bay and then went on to be the President of the Macintosh County Rotary Club. He also loved being a greeter and usher at the Lighthouse Church of God and Agape Christian Fellowship.

Mr. Quinn is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Quinn; his daughter, Kathy & her husband Troy Manning, and his son, James Mitchell Quinn, all of St. Marys, Ga.; his two sisters, Bettie Duncan, and Barbara & her husband Tom Harris, all of Jackson, Tn.; and his grandchildren, Payton & her husband, Eric Tippins of Folkston, Ga., Michael Lemas & his fiancé Allie, of Pleasanton, Ca. and PO2 Dakoda T. Manning, stationed with US Navy in Hawaii.

A remembrance service for Mr. Quinn will be held at Lighthouse Church of God Saturday July 25, 2015 at 11am with Pastor Bobby Woods presiding. Graveside committal services will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday July 27, 2015 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fl. with US Army military honors to be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Mr. Quinn’s honor to be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Ga. 31525.
