Ronald Edward Barbiers

BarbiersMr. Ronald Edward Barbiers, age 71, of Kingsland, GA passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys, GA.
Mr. Barbiers was born November 19, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Helen Agnes Trusal. At age 16 he was adopted into the family of Michael Esposito where he attended Catholic school and learned the trade of carpentry from his adopted father. Ron spent his early adult years in Philadelphia working as a carpenter.
In 1983, he moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where he met and married Myrna Minnock on February 13, 1990. In 1991, he and Myrna moved to Hilliard, FL. He described Myrna as his soulmate and the love of his life. They enjoyed nine years together before her death in 1999.
Ron moved to Kingsland, GA in 2003. There he attended First Baptist Church of Kingsland where he developed many endearing friendships. In 2015, Ron made a public profession of his faith in Jesus Christ and received believer’s baptism. Ron was known for his generous heart and willingness to help others. He loved to cook and tend to his variety of Christmas cactuses.
Mr. Barbiers will be greatly missed by his close friends, Michael and Jean Marie Brazell of Kingsland, GA, his church family at First Baptist Church Kingsland, and his neighbors whom he considered friends.
Mr. Barbiers was preceded in passing by his wife, Myrna Minnock Barbiers.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 7, at 5 PM in the chapel of First Baptist Church Kingsland, officiated by Dr. Brian Parker, Pastor.
