Gilbert Franklin ‘Frank’ Saturday

Frank SaturdayMr. Gilbert Franklin ‘Frank’ Saturday, age 87 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, Fl. on Monday. February 29th, 2016.
Mr. Saturday was born on June 5th, 1928 in Tattnall Co., Ga. He is the son of the late Levi & Clara Cowart Saturday. Mr. Saturday served honorably in WWII and later during the Korean War. He was discharged due to the loss of two of his brothers during WWII. Mr. Saturday moved Kingsland in 1960. He worked at Kraft Bag until its closing and then later for James River Paper until his retirement. Mr. Saturday enjoyed his family and loved to cook in the backyard. He was always busy doing things for anyone that would ask him. He liked to travel with his wife, Betty to the Georgia/ Tennessee mountains. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsland and was a faithful supporter of the Zeta Beta Sorority for 25 years.
Mr. Saturday is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Betty Farlow Saturday; his children, Danny & his wife Olivia Saturday of Valdosta, Ga., Billy & his wife Kimberly Saturday, Randy Saturday, all of Kingsland, Ga., and Kim & her husband, Jeff Cook of Yulee, Fl.; his 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his sister, Dorothy Findley of Statesboro, Ga.; his beloved brother-in-law, & sister-in-law, Dwayne & Bobbi Tucker of Metter, Ga.; his faithful friends and neighbors, Hollon & Betty Crosby of Kingsland, Ga.; and family friend, Rita Young.
Along with his parents, Mr. Saturday joins his brothers, Levi Parks Saturday, Jr., Wilber H. Saturday, Elvin L. Saturday, Emmett B. Saturday and his great grandson, Tanner in Heaven.
Calling hours for the Saturday family will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 in Coastal Camden Funeral Home’s Woods-Wainwright Chapel with Pastor Bob Hughes presiding. Burial and committal prayer will be held at 4 pm at Lake Cemetery in Metter, Ga.
