Mr. David Edgar Cottle, Jr., age 63 of Woodbine, Ga. passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 in Jacksonville, Fl.
Mr. Cottle was born on October 30, 1951 in Fernandina Beach, Fl. to Bettie Lee Beville Cottle and the late David Edgar Cottle, Sr. His family said of him, “He loved his family and took pride in his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and his Wildcat football. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #326 F&AM in Woodbine, GA. He loved his coworkers at the Camden County landfill. He was of the Episcopal faith. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed.”
Along with his mother, Mr. Cottle is survived by his daughter, Laura (Jessie) Anderson, of Woodbine, Ga.; his son, Michael (Brittney Peeples) Cottle, of St. Marys, Ga.; his sister, Cheryl Anne (Burwell) Russell, of Waverly, Ga.; his brothers, James Francis (Diane) Cottle, of Jacksonville, Fl. and St. Marys, Ga.; and Wilton Ray Cottle, of Naknek, Alaska; his grandchildren, Eric Pearson, Karleigh Pearson, Emaleigh Anderson, Landon Warfield, and Dillon Cottle; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his father, Mr. Cottle was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Thomas Cottle, Sr.
Calling hours for Mr. Cottle will be from 5 PM to 8 PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Coastal Camden Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Monday, March 2, 2015 at Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine, Ga. Pastors’ John Pierce, John David Strickland, and Eddie Rawl will be presiding. Honorary Pallbears will be the staff of Camden County Landfill, the Woodbine Lodge #326 Masons, and family friend, Carlton Johnson.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice in Mr. Cottle’s honor.
