Ms. Karyta Musetta Allgood, age 56 of Kingsland, Ga. was called home to Heaven on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Southeast Georgia Health System’s Camden Campus in St, Marys, Georgia after a valiant fight with cancer.
Ms. Allgood was born in Kingsland, Ga. on September 16, 1958. She is the daughter of the late Johnnie and Verdie Joseph Jackson. Her family later moved to Norwalk, Connecticut where she attended grade school at Honey Hill Elementary, West Rocks Middle School and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1977. She then attended Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama.
She returned to Camden County, Ga. in the late 1990s. Ms. Allgood became a working mom, who wore many hats over her life. From a CNA, a corrections officer, to a school bus driver, her kindred said she always provided for her family and had a servant’s heart. She gave of herself freely, taking care of the sick and handicapped, seniors, children and the like. She was ever devoted to her those around her and was a child of God. Even in her last days her thoughts and attentions were focused on others. Her passions, other than with family were centered in crafts, like knitting and she was in love with Westerns and Perry Mason. Her family is very proud of her, as she was of them for fighting the good fight. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed.
Ms. Allgood is survived by her devoted friend & his sister, Lonnie Brooks and Jewel; her daughter, Karyta Crudup (Andrew Trott- Francis) of Kingsland, Ga.; her sons, Juvon Allgood (Sherri) of Kapolei, Hi., Dale Allgood (Lacey Moody) of Graham, NC, Linnie Crudup (Victoria) Sasebo, Japan and Cody Crudup of Houston, Tx. Her sister, Irene Smith (Bradford) of Kingsland, Ga., Johnette Jarrett of Spring, Tx., and Lillie Carnegie (Ernest) of Kingsland, Ga. her brother, John Tyson of Landover, Md.; her grandchildren, Jada Allgood, Andrew Trott- Francis, Jr., Serena Allgood, DJ Allgood, Jr. and Ethan Allgood; her devoted nieces and nephews, John Hilton, Generia Jarrett, Tanisha Price (Jamal), Leslie D. Hilton, Sharell & Owen Belanfante and Tiffany, Josh & Frederick Smith.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Allgood was preceded in passing by her sisters, Patricia Blackmon & Iris Hilton, and her brother, Freddie Joseph.
Calling hours will begin at 10 am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral services to follow at 11 am with Pastor Johnnie Mae Flemings presiding. Pallbearers will be Juvon Allgood, Linnie Crudup, Dale Allgood, Cody Crudup, John Hilton, Andrew Trott- Francis, Jr. and honorary pallbearer Josh Smith.
Interment and committal prayers will be offered at graveside following the funeral service at Kingsland Union Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga.
