Ms. Doris Ann Lawless, age 54 of Kingsland, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fl.
Ms. Lawless was born April 8, 1960 in Chesapeake, Virginia to Leslie Norman Kirkland and the late Selby Jean Jones Ablard.
Ms. Lawless worked as a manager of Denny’s for many years. Ms. Lawless’ family said of her, “She was a great and kind person who freely gave of herself to both her family and her friends. She was very open-minded and was a great sister. Her love of Disney showed others how her childlike innocence never faded. She also loved the holidays and knew how to keep Christmas in her heart. She firmly embraced her Seminole Heritage and its religious traditions. Her faith in God and internal strength shined through during her yearlong battle with breast cancer.” Ms. Lawless’ family and friends will always remember the true gifts she gave; herself.
Ms. Lawless is survived by her fiancé, Carl Joseph Bush of Kingsland; her daughters, April Lawless of New Jersey, and Starr Lawless of New Jersey; her sister, Tina and her husband George Rabideau of Kingsland; her brothers, Preston Kirkland, of Kingsland and Ray and his wife Barbara Kirkland of Kingsland; her nieces and nephews, Cilla Kirkland, Brian Tanner, Brandon Tanner, Jeremy Tanner, DeAnna Kirkland, Gary Kirkland, and Jean Kirkland; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Malaki Rabideau, Jordan Tanner, Jayden Tanner, Kymani Washington, Lona Tanner, Bree Bree Tanner, Hunter Back, Alyissa Kirkland, Chrissy Kirkland, Ray Ray Kirkland, and Gavin Tanner; and her three grandchildren.
