Esther Augusta FletcherMrs. Esther Augusta Fletcher, age 80 of Eagle Blvd. in Kingsland, Ga. passed away at her residence on the evening of Monday, October 6, 2014.

Mrs. Fletcher was born on April 1, 1934 in Drawbridge, Md. She is the daughter of the late Helen Marshall & Miles Lankford. Esther graduated from Cambridge High School in Maryland in 1952. She married H. Dean Insley that same year on December 7th. They resided in Nanticoke, Md. for the next 35 years. Esther worked as a bookkeeper for over 40 years for companies such as the Campbell Soup Company. Always hardworking and striving to better herself, at the age of 55 she received an Associate’s degree in Business. Upon retirement, she and her late husband Roy Fletcher lived between Chincoteague, VA and Key Largo, FL. Besides being a loving wife, mother & grandmother, Ms. Fletcher was known around Camden County by many as their honorary Grandmom.

Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her children, Deana Marie (Vincent) Barone of Kingsland, Ga. and James Fletcher of Manassas, Va.; her sisters Betty Dean of Hooper’s Island, Md., Gloria (Boy) Frazier of Madison, Md., and Phyllis (Paul) Willey of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Jessica Barone of Kingsland, Ga. and Jennifer & Jim Fletcher of Manassas, Va.; and her great granddaughter, Kaylee Dodson.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Fletcher joins her husbands, H. Dean Insley & Roy Weldon Fletcher; her daughter, Ramona Insley; her sisters, Mildred Webster & Myrtle Marie Lankford; and her brothers, Earl, Donald, & Gorman Lankford in passing.

The family will sit Shiva (the mourning period over the loss of a loved one in Judaism) from Wednesday, October 8, 2014 to Friday, October 10, 2014 until 7:30 PM at 104 Heron’s Nest Circle in Kingsland, Ga. A memorial remembrance will be held there at 2 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2014.

The family requests memorial donations be made in Mrs. Fletcher’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 3011 Hampton Ave, Ste. 361, Brunswick, GA 31520.
