Mr. Tim Nathan Lang, age 56, of Kingsland passed away Saturday, August 9th, 2014 at his residence in Kingsland, GA.
Mr. Lang was born in Saitama Ken, Japan on August 16, 1957 to the late Geneva Calhoun Lang and Jasper Nathanial Lang.
He was a lifelong resident of Georgia with short stints in Louisiana and at sea. Mr. Lang proudly served in the Navy for eight years and was an employee on the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in the Thermal Plant for almost 30 years. His family said of him, “Tim loved to hunt and fish all his life. In the off season, he enjoyed watching NASCAR races, Braves games, and listening to the Wildcat games on Fridays.” He will be missed greatly by his friends and family.
Mr. Lang is survived by his wife, Vicki Lang, of Kingsland, GA; his brothers, Ben Lang of Nahunta, GA. and Gary Lang of Kodak, TN.; his God son, Randy J.I. Aldridge of Kingsland, GA.; his aunt and uncle, Tila and Waymond Calhoun of Columbia, LA; his nephews, Ben Lang and Brian Lang, both of Sevierville, TN.; and Benjamin Lang of Nahunta, GA; his niece, Melinda Reed of New Port, TN.; his stepchildren, Jeremy Thompson of Tampa, FL. and Kelli Thompson of San Diego, CA.; his 7 step-granddaughters and his 4 step-grandsons; and his cousins.
Calling hours for Mr. Lang will be from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, August 15th, 2014 in the Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 16th, 2014 at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, GA. with military honors to be rendered. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Lang’s coworkers of the Thermal Plant.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations in Tim’s honor be made to the Humane Society of Camden County, Inc. (HSCC) 950 South Grove Blvd, Kingsland, GA 31548.
