Mrs. Audrey J. Hattaway, age 77, of Kingsland, GA, passed away Monday, June 2nd, 2014 in Fernandina Beach, Fl.
Mrs. Hattaway was born in West Palm Beach, FL. on March 4, 1937. She is the daughter of the late Lou Ella McClellan and Thomas Clayton Deese, Sr. She and her husband, Ernest were married in December of 1954, and they have shared nearly 60 years of marriage. Mrs. Hattaway is a former ceramics instructor, retired real estate broker, and ordained minister with Iglesia de la Palabra Viviente in Talladega, AL. Some of her pastimes include knitting, world travel, wildlife watching and, most of all, she enjoyed sharing her faith with others.
Mrs. Hattaway is survived by her husband, Ernest R. Hattaway of Kingsland and her six children, Daniel E. Hattaway of Knoxville, TN; Gerald W. Hattaway of Tulsa, OK; Marvin C. Hattaway of Knoxville, TN; Pamela A. Wisecup (Robert) of Danielsville, GA; Timothy D. Hattaway (Susan) of Kingsland, GA; and Reverend James W. Hattaway (Eva) of Lineville, AL. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, her two sisters, Ida Bailey (Allen) of Exmore, VA, and Norma Faulkner of Lakeland, FL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home, 935 E. King Avenue, Kingsland, GA 31548. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 am on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home with Reverend Juan Rodriguez officiating. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her many friends from the Kingsland Fire Department, Camden County Fire Rescue, and Excelcare Ambulance Services.
Graveside interment services will follow at 11:30 am at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL, with her son, Reverend James W. Hattaway, officiating.
