Mr. Royce Grissett, age 63 of the Old Dixie Highway community in White Oak, Ga., passed away unexpectedly at Mayo Hospital in Waycross, Ga. on Friday, October 11th, 2013 from injuries sustained in an accident.
Mr. Grissett was born on January 14th, 1950 in Graceville, Florida. He is the son of the late Leslie and Annie Bell Haddock Grissett. His family said of Royce that he was passionate about hunting, gardening and really anything that involved his being outdoors. He was always tinkering with something. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and especially carrying them to hunt and fish. They also shared that Royce never met a stranger and was always that person you could count on when you needed a hand. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Grissett is survived by his beloved wife Carol Grissett; his daughter, Angela (Joey) Frawley of White Oak; his sons, Larry (Tammy) Crews and Tim Crews all of White Oak; his sister, Joyce (Lonnie) Strickland of Alford, Fl.; his brothers, Lee (Patricia) Grissett of Alford, Fl. and Wyndell (Lawanna) Grissett of Choteau, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Michael, Ryan & Taylor Crews, and Tucker & Hayden Frawley; and his five great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Mr. Grissett joins his daughter, M’lea “Sissy” Grissett, his sisters, Doris Lassiter & Lois Skipper, and his brother, Wayne Grissett in Heaven.
Calling hours for the Grissett family will be from 6 to 8 pm, Sunday, October 13th, 2013 in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held graveside at 11 am Monday, October 14th, 2013 in the cemetery at Burnt Fort Chapel in Tarboro, Ga. with Pastor Gordon J. Goodwill.
Honorary pallbears will be Charlie Daugherty, William Johns, Travis Hutcheson, Grady Frawley, Mike Vickers, and Jimmy Williams.
