Raymond Wesley BrownMr. Raymond Wesley Brown, age 74 of Kingsland’s Browntown community, passed away early Monday morning, August 19th, 2013 at his sister’s residence in Kingsland, Ga. surrounded by his loved ones.

Mr. Brown was born on May 20th, 1938 in New York City, New York. He is the son of the late Ralph and Lucille Knecht Brown. After graduating high school, Mr. Brown served honorably in the U.S. Air Force in the late 1950’s. After his service time, Mr. Brown worked in various fields of occupation. His family spoke of him as a kind and friendly person to all and as one who spent his life serving others. He was a great example to follow in making sure that his fellow man was taken care of. Mr. Brown was known for standing up for what he believed to be true and correct, no matter the situation or the consequence. Mr. Brown was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him best.

Mr. Brown is survived by his sons, R. Wesley Brown and his wife Melanie of Clearfield, UT, James Brown of Decatur, GA., Lance Brown and his wife Aimee, and Michael Brown all of Augusta, GA. and Brian Brown and his wife Julia of Ogden, UT.; his sister, Diane Stewart of Kingsland; his brothers, Ralph Brown and his wife Joyce of Monroe, GA. and Ronald Brown and his wife Linda of Columbia, SC; his former wife, JoAnn C. Brown of Clearfield, UT.; and his 6 grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 PM Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 1711 Laurel Island Parkway, Kingsland, GA. Interment and committal prayers will follow in Temple Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Hwy 40 West in Kingsland, GA.
