Ellen Hodge PeeplesMrs. Ellen Hodge Peeples, age 90 of Kingsland, Ga., passed away early Saturday morning, July 13th, 2013 at the Senior Care Center of Saint Marys, Ga.

Mrs. Peeples was born on October 17th, 1922 in Empire, Ga. She is the daughter of the late Elijah T. Hodge, Sr. and Emma Rowland Hodge. She married Clifford A. Peeples on July 15th, 1941 in Charlton Co., Ga. and they shared 40 years of life and love together until his passing in 1981. Mrs. Peeples was most known for her donuts when she owned and operated The Donut Shop in downtown Kingsland for many years. Later, Mrs. Peeples worked as an associate in the Deli section at Winn Dixie in Kingsland. She was avid about gardening, both with flowers and growing vegetables, and loved keeping her lawn and flowers in pristine condition. She loved doing puzzles, crosswords and other mentally challenging games, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family. Mrs. Peeples valued her fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Christ at Browntown Baptist Church. She will be missed by both family and friends alike.

Mrs. Peeples is survived by her grandchildren, Harold “Hal” Lee Peeples and his wife Rhonda, Beth Peeples and her companion, Amanda Newman, and Vincent Rogers and his wife April, all of Kingsland, Rhonda R. Yarbrough Combs of Folkston, David Barrett Yarbrough and Phillip Adam Yarbrough of Kingsland; her daughter in law, Deborah Peeples and her son in law, Ernest Rogers, both of Kingsland; her great grandchildren, Kacey, Owen and Evan Peeples, Lindsey Yarbrough, and Bailey and Ryan Rogers; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Peeples joins her husband, Clifford A. Peeples, her daughter, Wanda Jeanette Peeples Rogers and her son, Clifford Harold Peeples in Heaven.

Calling hours for the Peeples family will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday, July 15th, 2013 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland. Funeral services will be held graveside at 10 am Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 in Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland with Brother Gary Potter presiding.

In recognition for the special care given to Mrs. Peeples, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, or the Senior Care Center in St. Marys.
