Woodrow Wilson Bruce, Jr.Mr. Woodrow Wilson “Woody” Bruce, Jr., age 72 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, April 20th, 2013 at Southeast Georgia Health System’s Camden Campus in St. Marys, Ga.

Mr. Bruce was born on July 20th, 1940 in Kingsland, Ga. He is the son of the late Woodrow W. and Edith Lucille Peeples Bruce, Sr. He is married to his beautiful, beloved wife, LeJuana Colson Bruce. Woody was employed in his early years at The Southeast Georgian and Peeples Market of Kingsland. He later worked for Gilman Paper Company for thirty-eight years and then for the Camden County Board of Education until he retired. Woody became a firefighter for the Kingsland Volunteer Fire Department at around sixteen years of age and later served as an EMT for the same department for approximately ten years.

As his father before him, he was an amazing example of what a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, father-in-law, grand father-in-law, friend, and person should be. He was a selfless man. He enjoyed sharing his love of gardening, flying, and photography with those who shared his life.

Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife, LeJuana Colson Bruce; his daughter, Dana (Flip) Skipper; his son, Edward Bruce; his sisters, Diane Rowland and Shelda Bruce; his brother, Lang (Vicky) Bruce all of Kingsland, Ga.; his grandchildren, Cameron (Jona) Bruce, Kelly (Ben) Cooper, Ashley (Josh) Groover, Cole Bruce and Hope Skipper; his great grandchildren, Jacob, Beau, Brantley, Gunner, and Erin; plus his nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours for the Bruce family will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 24th, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 11 am Thursday, April 25th, 2013 at the Kingsland First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Oglesby presiding. A committal prayer and interment will follow in the Bruce plot at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, Ga.
