At approximately 1: 30 am Wednesday, July 11th, 2012 the bride of my youth, Mrs. Glenda G. Johnson of Woodbine, Ga. departed this ole world and immediately entered into the presence of the loving arms of our Lord. Glenda had been ill since undergoing chemical and radiation therapy for cancer, of which she was in remission.
Her marriage of 58 years to Mr. Billy G. Johnson was a beautiful and loving relationship, which produced two beautiful daughters, Kimberly G. Kilpatrick of Savannah and Constance Elizabeth Smith of Kingsland, and a son, David Alan Johnson of Kingsland. There are also four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Her favorite passage of Scripture was from the Gospel of John, Chapter 11 and in particular verses 25 and 26. It reads,” I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever lives and believeth in Me shall never die.” As her daughter Constance noted, “God must need another angel, for mom sure has been one forever!”
Rejoice in the warm embrace of the arms of Jesus my love; you’ll never be cold again. To all those who showed her kindness and compassion- Thank You.
In lieu of flowers and cards, the family requests that donations be given to the Southeast Georgia Cancer Center for the treatment of cancer and research for a cure.
A private family ceremony is planned to be held in Rutledge, Ga. at a later date.
