Mr. Elzie Loren Cribbs, Jr., age 71 of White Oak, Ga. passed away in the early morning hours of Friday November 11th, 2011 at the Southeast Georgia Health Systems Brunswick Campus.
Mr. Cribbs was born on February 9th, 1940 in Tattnall County Ga. He is the son of the late Elzie Loren and Ida Mae Barnard Cribbs. Mr. Cribbs was a great husband, father and grandfather. He was married November 27, 1963 in Statesboro, Ga to Miss Lila Rebecca Dixon and they have shared almost forty-eight years of life and love together. Mr. Cribbs was a dedicated employee of Gilman Paper Company with over thirty years of service, working in #3 shipping. His family said of him when Mr. Cribbs was not spending time with them, he loved to be fishing and hunting. They also said he never met a stranger and his home was open to everyone. If he met someone new within fifteen minutes they would be talking as if they were best friends. Mr. Cribbs will truly be missed and never forgotten.
Mr. Cribbs is survived by his beloved wife, Lila Cribbs of White Oak; his children, Serenia “Chris” Larrison Lyons (Mike) of Tarboro, Ga, William Cribbs (Tonya) of Kingsland, Ga and Terry Cribbs (Sabrina) of Yulee, Fl; his sister, Mary Frances Bradley; his brother, Delano Truman Cribbs (Mary Evelyn) of Browntown, Ga; his grandchildren, Joshua Cribbs (Ashley), Wayne Larrison, Serenia Larrison, Jacob Larrison, Peyton Cribbs, Caleb Cribbs, Victoria Chandler, and Nicholas Cribbs; his great-grandchild, Braylee Cribbs and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Mr. Cribbs will be from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, November 12th, 2011 in the Wainwright Chapel at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, November 13th, 2011 at Harbor Worship Center in Kingsland, with Pastor Michael Sanes presiding. Pallbearers will be Wayne Larrison, Clint Lyons, Jamie Holloway, Keith Holloway, Brian O’Berry and Alex Lyons. Honorary Pallbearers are the men of Gilman Paper Company (#3 Shipping). Committal service will follow in Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga.
