Johnathan Scott Eastwood, 45, passed away in the loving arms of his sister, Tina Reid on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Hospice of Golden Isles.
Mr. Eastwood was born January 5, 1965 in Truman, Arkansas. He was the youngest of 3 children. Mr. Eastwood, also known to most as “Scotty,” grew up in Oxnard, California. He was an exceptional athlete and impressed many on the football field. Scotty, relocated to Harrison, Arkansas to assist his mother with caring for his father, who later succumb to cancer. Scotty possessed a compassion that few could emulate. After his father passed, Scotty decided to join his mother and relocate to Kingsland, Georgia, where he has resided and flourished for the past 11 years. Scotty, a gentle giant, will be remembered lovingly for his compassion for the underdog, a quick, witty humor, a diverse interest in movies and music, passion for history and a love of animals.
Scotty is survived by his siblings, Tina Reid (Ronald) of Kingsland, Georgia and David Eastwood (Nikki) of Aliso-Viejo, California; his 3 nieces, Nicole Silvia (Scott), Angy Merola (Tony), and Danielle Baker (Lloyd), his nephew, Erik Reid, and his 2 great nephews. He will also be remembered by his close friends and second family, Gary, Bridget, Daniel, and Kevin Head of Kingsland. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Claudio & Anna Bettiga and his beloved animal companion, Bart. We were all blessed to have known Scotty.
A visitation and memorial service will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, August 5th, 2010 in the Wainwright Chapel of the Funeral Home.
