Ms. Anna Lodema Bettiga, 79, of Kingsland passed away at her residence late afternoon Monday, June 14th, 2010.
Ms. Bettiga was born on May 30th, 1931 in Buffalo, AK. She is the daughter of the late George Columbus and Blanche O. Turwater McFarlin. She was the youngest of three children. Mrs. Bettiga spent the majority of her life in Oxnard, CA, where she raised her three children. Mrs. Bettiga was a faithful employee of the ABEX Aerospace Corporation for over 25 years and was the first female promoted to the rank of Supervisor. While employed at ABEX she met the “love of her life” Mr. Claudio Bettiga and they were married in 1981.
After retiring from ABEX, Mr. and Mrs. Bettiga decided to start a new life together in Harrison, Arkansas. They lived a loving and leisurely life together on their farm, enjoying the countryside of Arkansas, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. After Mr. Bettiga passed, Mrs. Bettiga decided to join her beloved daughter, Tina Reid in Kingsland, GA and has resided with her for the past ten years. Mrs. Bettiga was loved by many friends and family members. She will be lovingly remembered for her passion in interacting with young people, her dedication and love for her family and friends, as well as, her amazing flare with shoes and jewelry. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Bettiga is survived by her three children; Tina (Ronald) Reid, and John Eastwood of Kingsland, and George David (Nikki) Eastwood of Aliso-Viejo, CA; her four grandchildren, Angy Merola (Tony Smith), Dani Merola (Lloyd) Baker, Nicole Reid (Scott) Silvia, and Erik Reid; as well as, her two great grandchildren, Nico Smith and Logan Baker. Mrs. Bettiga is also survived by many relatives, friends, and her beloved six schnauzers. Besides her parents and husband, Ms. Bettiga, was preceded in death by her sister Billie Louise Brady and her brother Warren Gene McFarlin.
A visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday June 17th, 2010 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held graveside at 10 am, Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home at Hopewell Cemetery in Harrison, AK.
