Bennie Sinclair Lane, 63 of Kingsland passed away early Tuesday evening, June 8th, 2010 at Southeast Georgia Health System’s Camden Campus.
Mr. Lane was born in Hortense, Ga. on September 17th, 1946. He is the son of the late Vernon Sinclair and Geneva Crews Lane. Mr. Lane was a master craftsman in all disciplines of construction. His legacy he placed in his family and friends. His great friend and brother in law writes” He was a friend of a lifetime, with some things best to be untold. He loved to fish and shrimping was a must. Fire hunting at night, even if our flashlights weren’t bright, we’d get a deer in the dead of night.
Stories untold; too many to tell really, but the best story of all is we changed to the Lord and don’t go to Hell. Friends for life, Jerry Cross” His daughter Rita writes “Growing up I never really got to know my dad, but I never really worried or got too sad. I always knew he was alive and well, And in my heart I knew he loved me. That I can tell. Dad may not have always been near me or around, but I also knew someday we would share the same ground. When I grew to be old enough to understand, that’s when I thought I was ready to see him and finally hold his hand. I knew the love for him I had was always there. I just wanted to be sure that he would care. Well I really got to spend some great times together, so from then on I was never worried, because I knew he would always be there forever. Now that he has passed and is now resting, I know his coming into our lives was a great blessing. You will surely be missed. We love our daddy.” Mr. Lane attended the Forest View Baptist Church in Woodbine. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Lane is survived by his children, Rita M. (David) Schneider Daphine Shelwood, Marcus (Pam) Lane and Phillip (Christine) Lane all of Mulberry, Fl., and Benny Lane, Jr. of Lakeland, Fl.; his sister, Darlene Cross and special brother in law Jerry of Kingsland; his brothers, Steve Lane, Roger Lane and Jerry Lane all of Kingsland, his 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
