Mr. J. Brooks Bush, Jr., 87 of Kingsland, Georgia passed away Thursday evening, February 25th, 2010.
Mr. Bush was a native of Bay Minette, Alabama. He was born July 23rd, 1922 and is the son of the late J. Brooks, Bush, Sr. and Nora Etheridge Bush. Mr. Bush was a graduate of Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette. Afterwards, he joined the US Army in WWII, serving from 1942 to 1945. There he served fighting in the Philippines- Mindanao, Leyte Gulf, New Guinea and then on to the defeat and occupation of Japan. After the war, Mr. Bush worked for AT&T for three years. He went on to the Florida School of Watch making, graduating in 1952 as a Master Watchmaker. Later, Mr. Bush owned and operated Bush Jewelers and Sporting Goods for 35 years in Kingsland.
Mr. Bush is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty N. Bush of Kingsland; his sister, Virginia B. Forsyth of Bay Minette, Al.; his sister-in–law, Bonnie Gum of Jacksonville, Fl.; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 10 AM in the Wainwright Chapel at the funeral home with services to follow there at 11 AM with Rev. John Jenkins of Kingsland First Baptist Church officiating. The interment will be held privately.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Kingsland First Baptist Building Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
