Mrs. Opal Iola Ann Walters, 75 of Woodbine passed away at her residence on Sunday, August 30, 2009.
Mrs. Walters is a native of Chippewa County, Wisconsin. She was born at Birch Creek on November 7th, 1933 and is the daughter of the late Cless A. and Villa A. Putnam Blanchard.
Mrs. Walters was a devoted military wife and loving mother. She was raised in Ephrata WA, with one sister and five brothers. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbine.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her children, Deborah Craven of Woodbine, Cynthia Humphries of Brownwood, Tx., and Thomas Allen(Sherry) Walters of Summerville, SC.; her sister, Gwen (Bill) Lowry of Ephrata, Wa.; her brothers, Harry (Ginni) Blanchard of San Diego, Ca. and Kenny (Karleen) Blanchard of Spokane, Wa. She has six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Walters was also predeceased by her husband John L. Walters.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday September 3, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Woodbine, with Pastor Leslie Whitney presiding.
