Delores Sarah HorneMrs. Delores S. Horne, 64 of Kingsland’s Browntown community passed away at her residence Monday evening June 22nd, 2009.

Mrs. Horne is a Coffee County, Georgia native. She was born in Douglas on July 8th, 1944 and is the daughter of the late Edward Warren and Marion Pearl Spikes Moore.

Mrs. Horne was an employee of Kraft Bag of St. Marys in her younger years. She later became manager of many local area hardware stores, including Kingsland Ace Hardware and Wright and Evans Hardware of St. Marys. She was married to Wayne E. Horne, Sr. in 1960 and they have shared 48 years of life and love together. Mrs. Horne was avid about her church. She was a longtime member of the Harbor Worship Center, formerly the Kingsland Church of God in Kingsland. There she was a prayer warrior and church mother. She took charge in many aspects of church life, from cooking and food preparations for events and activities to cleaning and repair. Mrs. Horne has also served as the Ladies Ministries vice president. She will be deeply missed by her family and a community of friends.

Mrs. Horne is survived by her beloved husband Wayne Edward Horne, Sr. of Kingsland; her children, Eddie Horne, Teresa Readdick (Gary), Warren Horne(Nicole) and Angela McIntyre ; her sisters Helen Gooding(Listin) and Diane Beckham(R.L.) all of Kingsland; her grandchildren Jonathan and Sissy Horne, Gregory Jackson, Phelan Readdick, Steven and Aaron Foster, and Marlee and Lylah Horne; and 2 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday June 24th, 2009 at the Harbor Worship Center in Kingsland.

The funeral service will be held at 5 PM Thursday, June 25th, 2009 at the Harbor Worship Center in Kingsland with Bishop Michael Sanes and Pastor John Sanes presiding. Casket bearers will be Ricky Beckham, Eddie Carver, Jack Smock, Deen West, Tom Parrish and William Cribbs. Honorary bearers will be Eddie Hopkins, Kenneth Smith, Tom Bell, Shane Barbery, and Kenny Kibilko.

Interment will follow at Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine.
