Richard Beasley

Richard BeasleyMr. Richard ‘Dick’ Beasley, 81, of Kingsland, passed away suddenly at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in St. Marys early Sunday morning June 7th, 2009.

Mr. Beasley was an Alabama City, Alabama native. He was born on July 2nd, 1927 and is the son of the late Leo and Lola (Cox) Beasley. He was married to the late Zita ‘Rita” Beasley on June 14th, 1950 and had shared 58 wonderful years together until her passing in September, 2008. Mr. Beasley is a veteran of both the US Navy and the US Marine Corps. After a stint in the US Navy following WWII, Mr. Beasley joined the US Marine Corps in July 1948. He was sent to fight in Korea and was wounded in action in during Operation Ripper to take Hill 975 in March of 1951.

Later, Mr. Beasley was employed in the apartment complex management field for most of his life until his retirement, with his interests laying in fishing, hunting, family, friends and holidays. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Beasley is survived by his sons, Bruce E. Beasley and wife Brenda of Jacksonville, Fl and David A. Beasley and wife Cindy of Kingsland, Ga.; his brother, Marvin Beasley and wife Dorothy of Arab, Ala.; four grandchildren, Patti Anne Thomas, Michelle Lynn Beasley, Maryanne Zoto and Tiffany Lynn Beasley; also 7 great-grand children. Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his three sisters.

Private services will be held by the family.
