Mrs. Peggy Ann Martin, 66, of Kingsland, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 6th, 2009.
Mrs. Martin was a native of Lawrence County, Tennessee. She was born in Lawrence on June 21st, 1942 and is the daughter of the late Grady Lee and Lorene Mae Roberts Thompson.
Mrs. Martin has been a hard worker all of her life. She and her family worked in the south Florida orange groves during her young years. Peggy came to Camden County with Squire RC Martin in 1976 and they were married here that same year. They enjoyed almost twenty years of life and love together until his passing in 1995. Her family spoke that Peggy was a wonderful, loving and caring lady with a smile on her face to whomever she met. She carried so much tragedy in her life, loosing her sister Patricia and her father two years later, then her beloved husband Squire, whom she loved with all her heart, and followed by the death of her mother.
Mrs. Martin has been in the employ of Winn Dixie in Kingsland as a grocery associate for over 14 years. Her family shared that Peggy loved everyone close to her. She will be dearly missed, but knowing she is in Heaven with all who she’s lost and with our sweet savior Jesus is our comfort. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Kingsland.
Ms. Martin is survived by her son and daughter in law, Louie Dale and Lesa Scroggins of Kingsland; and her grandson, Luke Scroggins of Kingsland.
A memorial service was held at 6:00 PM Friday, January 9th, 2009 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Hughs presiding.
Please make any memorial donations in her honor to the Friendship Baptist Church, 480 West King Avenue, Kingsland, Ga. 31548.
