Mary Magdalene McEachern KingMary Magdalene McEachern King, 86 of Woodbine, Ga. passed away Tuesday evening September 23rd, 2008 at the South East Georgia Regional Medical Center’s Brunswick Campus.

Mrs. King is a Ware County, Georgia native. She was born in Waycross on February 6th, 1922 and is the daughter of the late Robert Washington and Winnie Gertrude Miller Carter. Mrs. King was a homemaker for most of her life and was dear to her children and those around her. She was a charter member of the Woodbine Church of God and was very happy to do the Lord’s work. Granny Mac, as she was known by her family and friends, was always full of energy and life. She was known to have rocking chair contests and liked to go to restaurants. Her faith in God’s love can be seen in her family and her works on Earth. She will be sadly missed.

Mrs. King is survived by her daughters, Mary E. Anderson (Louis) of Woodbine and Sharon L. deLucia (Michael) of Virginia Beach, Va.; her son Larry D. McEachern (Debbie) of St. Marys; her brother, Robert Carter (Yvonne) of Houston, Tx.; her grandchildren, Eileen Westover (Dennis) of Jasper, Ga., Pamela Meadows (Jarrett) of Woodbine, Heather deLucia of Virginia Beach, Va., and Crystal McEachern,; plus three great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, O D McEachern and William P. King; her sisters Ida Manning, Martha Jane Kennison and Shirley Johnson and her brother Frank Carter.

A visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday September 25th, 2008 at the funeral home.

A funeral service was held at 11:00 AM, Friday September 26th, 2008 at the Woodbine Church of God with Pastor Chris Ogden presiding. Casket bearers were Louis Anderson, Jarrett Meadows, Dennis Westover, Michael deLucia, Douglas Westover, and Caleb Ogden.

Interment followed in Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Woodbine Church of God.
